BODY OF LEGISLATION

This section contains the main legislation references governing public transports as far as accessibility of disabled passengers is concerned.

The body of legislation is divided into: general principles, European legislation, Italian legislation and legislation of Region Lombardy.
We consider such subdivision more functional if compared with a division based on a single typology of transport: there are laws regulating accessibility transversally for several typologies of transports.

A separated section is dedicated to acts and documents regulating air transportation. Such typology was not considered in our study because, unlike airports that are infrastructures placed in a region, air companies are not part of public transports of Region Lombardy. However, we have taken into account air transportation legislation because it is interesting to know and analyze legislation references at national, European and International level both for their peculiarity and because they are not easy to be found.
